Briefing on The Independent Thematic Community Service with MBKM Implementation Palangka Raya University

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022. LPPM Palangka Raya organize the Independent Thematic Community Service 1st Periode 2022. For the first time, UPR held the community service combine with the implementation of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). This briefing was attended by the Vice- Chancellor of UPR, the Head of LPPM UPR, lectures and students.

The briefing was began with singing the Indonesian anthem, Indonesia Raya, followed by Mars UPR. After that, the chairman of the KKN Committee, Dr. Miar, SE., M.Si reported that in this periode the community service program will be held for two months (March - April) and followed by 665 students. The locations of this program are spread over 44 villages in four regency which is, Barito Timur Regency, Barito Selatan Regency, Kotawaringin Timur Regency, Gunung Mas Regency serta Seruyan Regency. The outcome of this program is to produce a strong, independent students that also have a leadership spirit. The financing of this community service program is borne by the students themselves.

In his speech the head of LPPM UPR, Dr. Ir. Aswin Usup M.Sc said the the community service program in this period is the implementation of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). The theme of this program is UPR building villages. Dr. Ir. Aswin Usup M.Sc hopes that the outcome of this programs is students become excellent human beings and have the love of their homeland. Through the implementation of MBKM and KKN, students will obtain eight credits which divided to four credits for KKN and four credits could be converted to other courses. The head of LPPM also reminded all students to always follow the health protocol due to the pandemic covid-19 in order to avoid the occurrence of new cluster.

The briefing of the he Independent Thematic Community Service was opened by the Vice-Chancellor of UPR, Dr. Andrie Elia. The Vice-Chancellor stated the the lecturers and students should become the motivator for the community in dealing the their problems such as Covid-19, community welfare, stunting etc. The UPR’s Vice- Chancellor also asked students to always have a good behaviour, character, morals and faith while socializing with the community. Students also have to maintain their immunity due the pandemic covid-19 is still around. The Vice-Chancellor hoped that the existence of these students can give a good impression for the community.
